These fine reproductions of the original 'Poker Series'lithographs of 1895 have rarely been seen and more rarely owned. They are a true find for the art lover, history buff and poker enthusiasts. They each depict five men of the 1800's playing poker. The exciting twist is that each is of a different stature of men as well as environment. Although the Gilded Age was a a time of enormous wealth from fortunes being made, monopolies, and lavish lifestyles, there were others who were not so fortunate and some even desperate. All the gents of the series are still all vying for the pot on the poker table, however. All four of the artists of the series were well-known and admired in their own right but their styles still complement each other and are somewhat similar. Each painting comes alive to tell the story by the Artist. The commonality of the series is that each have five poker players and high tension and anticipation and to see who wins the pot no matter what the stake. They can be proudly displayed individually or as a complete set. Of one thing you may be certain, any of these reproductions will be cause of conversation and admiration by all.
